KegLand Kegerators Now Available on Kegerators.com

KegLand might just be my favorite land of all the lands out there. Now available on Kegerators.com, KegLand Kegerators are configured in a few variations for one, two or three keg dispensing. KegLand beer dispensers have a few bells and whistles you might not find in other kegerators like a front temperature display with temp controls and a font tower cooling fan button (on/off). Another awesome feature for these kegerators are the forward sealing Intertap stainless steel faucets. These taps have interchangeable spouts for pouring different types of beer or for filling growlers.

APPROVED FOR COMMERCIAL USE TOO!

Unlike kegerators with standard 30 to 50 F temperature ranges, the KegLand series can be adjusted easily with the front panel digital display from 25 to 82 F. The KegLand Kegerators also include a tower chilling fan, digital temperature controls, onboard temperature memory, Intertap taps, glassware rack, drip tray and a huge 5.8 cu. ft. capacity. This gives you plenty of room for fermenting and dispensing various size kegs at the same time. The CO2 tank is mounted on the back of the unit, giving you even more space inside for kegs.

KEGLAND KEGERATORS

KegLand Single Tap Kegerator – (exterior mounted CO2 tank and interior mounted glass rack)

KegLand Dual Tap Kegerator – (large interior space for fermenting or converts to normal refrigerator with racks)

KegLand Three Faucet Kegerator – (internal tower chilling fan and included Intertap forward seal stainless faucets)

Brew Dog Turns 11

The first post ever made on the Kegerator Blog over 11 years ago was to welcome home our new Golden Retriever puppy. Guess what, he is still here and yes he does love draft beer. He still doesn’t retrieve.

He has changed a little since his first appearance, but he still has the same attitude and wild personality. In hindsight I should have named him HOPS. He never sits still and literally hops on anyone who comes in the door. We all still love you Brew Dog. Happy Birthday buddy.

So what is Brew’s favorite beer? He is no craft beer snob. The dude would drink anything put in front of him. I’ve never actually given him more than a tablespoon of any beer (poor guy) but has become partial to Bowser beer. It’s a no alcohol, no hop, broth-like bev in bottle. He goes crazy for it.

Brew’s favorite travel destination has to be South Lake Tahoe where he runs and plays in the cold water of the lake, chases teet mice up trees and barks at the locals (bears, birds, rude people).

When he’s not on vacay he is busy at work assisting in the homebrew operations at Homebrewing.com and keeping the world’s supply of peanut butter in balance.

Keg King Kegerators Now Available on Kegerators.com

keg-king-kegerators-now-available

Keg King is the latest brand now available on Kegerators.com with three versions of their homebrew focused line of kegerators. Keg King has packed these units with new features not often found in today’s basic kegerators. The biggest stand out are the forward sealing stainless steel faucets. These are not offered on any other kegerators that we are aware of.

First, they have included an extremely powerful and efficient compressor that can chill your beer down to 26 F (Not that you would want to, but you have the option.) The Keg King Series 4 Kegerators also include a tower chilling fan, digital temperature controls, onboard temperature memory, Intertap taps, glassware rack, drip tray and a huge 5.8 cu. ft. capacity. This gives you plenty of room to ferment multiple carboys and dispense various size kegs at the same time. The CO2 tank is mounted on the back of the unit, giving you even more space inside for kegs.

KEG KING SERIES 4 KEGERATORS

Keg King Series 4 Single Tap Kegerator – (exterior mounted CO2 tank and interior mounted glass rack)

Keg King Series 4 Dual Tap Kegerator – (large interior space for fermenting or converts to normal refrigerator with racks)

Kegerators.com's Top 5 Names in Domestic Beer

The U.S. beer industry is in a constant state of flux. New ideas and innovations are changing the face of beer every year, especially in the micro brew market. As the primary field of growth in the brewing industry, kegerators.com will name the top ten names in domestic craft beer production. These are names to look out for. These are brewers associated with quality, ingenuity, tradition, social responsibility, and most of all, good tasting beer. For these qualities, we name New Belgium Brewing Company (Fort Collins, Colorado), Dogfish Head Brewing Company (Rehoboth Beach, Delaware), Spoetzl Brewery (Shiner, Texas), Rogue Ales (Newport, Oregon) and St. Arnolds Brewery (Houston, Texas).

New Belgium Brewery New Belgium Brewery of Fort Collin, Colorado, is here honored for the company’s integrity, ingenuity, and the amazing quality of its high production level brewery. A forward thinking, 100% green company which shares its profits with its workers, New Belgium has consistently contributed innovative brewery techniques, while at the same time maintaining ancient and venerated beer traditions, such as its 1554 Enlightened Black Ale. Kudos to the first beer company to recycle its waste grain and harvest methane from it! This full circle renewable energy source now contributes 30% of the energy required to produce over 450,000 barrels of beer annually.

Dogfish Head Brewing Company Dogfish Head Brewing Company, a smaller brewer located in Rehoboth Beach, Delaware, is here honored for ingenuity and fearless experimentation in the realm of brewing. These brewers have gone where few dare to go, preparing beers of up to 18% A.P.V.! Using admixtures such as raspberries, raisins, blueberries, chicory, and coffee, Dogfish Head has prepared some mighty interesting and mighty tasty concoctions. Brewers of the Midas Touch, Dogfish Head has even created a facsimile of a brew scientists discovered only traces of on urns in King Midas’ tomb. A true blend of tradition and experimentation. But you’ll have to go to Delaware to sample some of their latest innovations: small scale craft spirits!

Spoetzl Brewery, of Shiner Spoetzl Brewery, of Shiner, Texas, is a middle-sized brewery (much bigger than a microbrewery at 300,000+ barrels per year) that has, just in recent years, ventured into the craft beer market. Spoetzl is here honored for returning to the craft beer traditions from the precipice of the homogenized U.S. beer fad. For many years, the Spoetzl Brewery kept mainly their Shiner beer going, but now has distribution for many craft beers, in addition to their rather main-stream tasting Shiner and Shiner light. All of this is, in part, to Shiner’s centennial beer program, which started in 2005. The centennial program began producing one special edition beer in small batches at the end of each quarter. With this foray into the realm of experimentation, the brewers at the Spoetzl Brewery found flavors that were received quite favorably. Spoetzl’s Shiner 96 Märzen Ale, Shiner 97 Bohemian Black Lager, Shiner 98 Bavarian Style Amber, and Shiner 99 Munich Style Helles Lager, are all high quality craft beers worthy of recognition along-side the best microbrews of the day.

Rogue Ales Rogue Ales, of Newport, Oregon is a brewery which has maintained an exacting level of perfection with its recipes while keeping an open mind toward new innovations in brewing. With brews as diverse as Soba, Hazelnut Brown Nectar, and the Juniper Pale Ale, Rogue has demonstrated it’s willingness to live up to its namesake. Yet still, for all this invention, Rogue beers are remarkably reliable – one bottle will always taste like the next, even with such extreme different flavors. Here’s another great thing about Rogue Ales: they are all without preservatives or pasteurization.

Saint Arnold Brewing Company Saint Arnold Brewing Company, of Houston, Texas, is here honored for their dedication to serving their community with traditional, well made craft beers. You may not have heard of St. Arnolds unless you have visited central or east Texas. This is because St. Arnolds is more devoted to serving their immediate community than they are in expanding their distribution. St. Arnolds certainly stands a part from the other breweries in this list, being a straight-forward craft brewery with an honorable dedication to traditional beer styles. St. Arnolds has had quite a time dealing with the destruction of Hurricane Ike, but they are moving into a new location and will surely be up and running again soon.

These have been Kegerators.com‘s five most distinguished domestic brewers of 2008.

AND THE KEGERATOR GOES TO…

Kegerators.com recently handed off a very lucky individual a free Kegerator courtesy of the 2007 Summer Kegerator Giveaway Contest. The winner with the most deserving story was sent in by Patrick Green of Portland, OR and described his passion for draft beer in an essay title The March of the Kegerator.

Kegerator Winner

The winner of the contest submitted his essay online at Kegerators.com and will soon be enjoying fresh draft beer out of his very own home beer dispenser.

An excerpt of the essay along with a picture of the winner is attached.

“The wedding was not being held at the hotel, so the next morning discussion broke out among the men as to how the diverted kegerator would rejoin its brethren.  The groom, being a resourceful man, decides that the best way was for the kegerator to be rolled, pushed and carried the 4 blocks to the wedding site.  That is how our wedding pictures ended up including all of the groomsmen, dressed to play their parts, forming a phalanx to protect and guide the determined groom in his efforts to push the kegerator the entire distance.”

To read the entire essay please visit www.kegerators.com

The next Kegerator Giveaway Contest will begin sometime in mid September so keep checking their official contest entry page for the latest details.

Kegerator Giveaway Contest Update

I wanted to let everyone know how great the kegerator contest is going. I have received over 1000 entries in less than 13 days. I’ve received emails from troops in Iraq, teachers in Ohio and homebrewers from all over the U.S. This is really exciting to think that someone will actually win this keggerator and someday be pouring a cold one from it.

I also wanted to clarify that I have the option to pay or not to pay the shipping on the prize. I put that in the contest rules just in case the winner is in Hawaii or Alaska, but most likely I will pay the shipping if the winner is inter-continental since I want the winner to really feel the joy of a completely free kegerator.

Having a kegerator in my kitchen has brought so much joy to my family and friends. It has created an awesome conversation piece for dinner parties or sporting events on tv. My house has become the hub for entertainment and from all the entries I am getting I can see that all of you want your homes to become an entertainment hub too!I am planning on running another kegerator giveaway contest as soon as this one ends in August, so be ready for it! I would like to run the contest 4 times a year. Damn, that’s like giving away $2000.00 worth of gear. You gotta love it!

Brew Comes Home

Brew Comes Home

A friend of mine recently asked if I would like a puppy for free. "Hmmm… free puppy?" I said. "I guess." It’s hard to pass up something free and even harder to pass up something free and cute like a Golden Retriever puppy.

I brought the little guy home and appropriately named him "Brew". He has been a little hell raiser since day one, chewing on anything below knee level and wreaking havoc on all the shoes and furniture in his path. This little brew master has a lot to learn about proper home bar etiquette. He is only 8 weeks old and does not quite understand that the bathroom is outside and not the living room floor, not unlike some friends of mine.

Last night he had his first lick of Rogue Dead Guy and I think he had sensory overload. He spaced out and barked at the bottle as if to say "Aghhhhhh…. that is the most delicious brew this Brew has ever slurped." He is also fond of Real Ale’s Fireman #4, so I can tell Brew and I will be friends for many years.

I wonder if Brew will like draft beer too?
