We have a Sanyo keg that we have used for about a year. Since we wanted to have Newcastle, we purchased the correct tap. We have had 4-5 half kegs over the past year with no problems. On the most recent keg, we have not been able to get a proper beer flow. I have read all the posts under troubleshooting and we have taken the system apart and checked everything that was recommended--can't find a solution. CO2 tank is new, pressure is correct--even tried different pressure and no pressure. Beer is foamy, keg gurgles, no good beer flow. I am beginning to wonder if something is wrong with the actual keg or the Sanyo. Thinking about replacing all tubing and the tap. Any ideas?![]() |

Is the keg you are trying to dispense another Newcastle keg or a US domestic? Common mistake is trying to dispense a US domestic with a European tap. This usually results in foam and keg gurgles.
For the immediate situation, make sure you have a hand pump so you can dispense that delicious Newcastle out and not waste any cash. If you are using the correct tap for the keg you have I wouldn't replace any parts until I tested a new keg. You may have got a keg with a damaged coupler valve. I would take the variable out of the equation that is different than the last time you successfully dispensed, which seems to be the keg. If the problem persists with another keg then we can start narrowing down parts within the tap/coupler that could be bad. (i.e. ball, ball check valve or gaskets) Hope this helps.
