Kegerator Forum: Double Tap Flow Issue

Posted:  04 Nov 2014 22:25
Hi everyone,

We purchased a double tap kegerator, and I got my CO2 and kegs delivered yesterday. When I went to tap the kegs today, one of the sixtels is pouring nicely, whereas the other one isn't pouring at all. They are both hooked up to the same 5 pound tank, I tapped them both the same way (I think!), and I'm nearly certain the CO2 is set up properly, as I had the guy from the tank delivery service set it up for me..

I'm obviously not super experienced in this arena, so besides troubleshooting the valve settings and retapping the keg, I don't even know where to start.

Does anyone have some troubleshooting steps that I should run through to get this thing flowing properly?

Any help is greatly appreciated!

Cheers

Hey Hey...

Here are some good tips to reduce foam... https://www.kegerators.com/articles/foamy-bee ...

I would try and switch the tap (keg coupler) to see if the keg giving you problems pours correctly through the other tap (keg coupler). If it still has issues then you most likely have a keg with excess CO2 in the headspace that needs to be purged (released).

If it pours correctly then you isolated the problem to the beer line, coupler or faucet. The check ball (#2 in the diagram below)  may be stuck in the coupler. See  a coupler taken apart here... https://www.kegerators.com/articles/cleaning- ...

Make sure your temperature is in the low 40s and the beer line is coiled on top of the kegs too.
