I bought a sweet 3 door, True TDD-4 Kegerator that seems to run like a champ. However it seems to be running too often and won't get below 43*, beer temp about 44*.
The condenser has been cleaned well and it's almost spotless. The old insulated tape was old and came off the cooling coils so I insulated them. I filled a couple small holes used to run Co2 lines with insulated spray foam. The doors seal well, the fans run well. I checked the temperature of the evaporator unit* (the radiator looking unit inside the cooler) and only got a temp of 40* or so. Obviously if it doesn't get below 37* neither will my beer. I have a wireless thermometer inside the unit to avoid opening and closing the unit. I've tried dialing the temp from 4-8 with the same results. The only things I can come up with is the following; - I noticed per the manual I do not have a cardboard flap over the top of the condenser to help pull heat from it. - The fan inside the cooler doesn't seem to blow very hard and also doesn't seem to have a shroud to help pull the cold air of the cooling unit. - I need more R-134 (this in my opinion is not likely) Please any help or feedback would be great. Thanks for your time. Ryan |
