Hi all. I took a standard fridge a few years back and drilled a tap through the front to dispense my home-brew. Now, I'm redoing my kitchen and going to throw away the tall fridge and put in a short kegerator that can hold two 1/6th kegs. The kegerator will be in the garage in South Florida (temps 75-95 year round). The total length of tubing will be 5-6 feet. I have three questions:
1. I need a recommendation for a sturdy fridge. I most likely do not need the built in two taps as I'm going to run just the two lines out from it. 2. Do you recommend a particular line insulation technique? PVC would be hard because there will be several turns. A flexible option would be better. 3. For the lines, the plastic tubing is nice and cheap, however seems to require more maintenance. Are other types of beer lines lower maintenance? (maybe its just because you can see into the plastic ones. ![]() |
