Kegerator Forum: foam, big keg, recarbonating it

hello keggers, im new to kegs n home brewing and  I have a few questions, I bought a few kegs  for my bros wedding n some fool tapped one n introduced oxygen .when the first wasn't even drank yet! it took 4 days to find co2 n I hooked my kegerator system up to recarbonate the stale keg.so I goter hooked up to around 25 psi co2 cause I wanna drink it. its fairly ok beer now after a day. for a fullsize keg like that how long should carbonization take. n at wat psi should I put co2 tank. and once carbonized can I turn co2 off n wait til I drink til I turn tank on again?
what psi once carvbonized should I leave it on?
its suuuuper foamy because I was tryin to drive it everywhere to bars to get a shot of co2 in it. plus psi is high, will foam subside once its settled and its fully carbed and I turn psi down?
ok thnks my first keg and I just figured kegerator system out so I know almost nothing,

i now know a shot of co2 would have done nothing really, but its being nursed back to its golden bubbly self as we speak, but need some advice for sure just wingin it here

Did you ever get the problem fixed. 25 PSI seems a bit high even for recarbing.

ya 25 way to high. beer expert were I bought the co2 obviously had no idea. even 5 psi to high to serve. thinkin smaller pony kegs the way to go.
