I was wondering if it is possible if I purchased a portable kegerator, is there a way I could modify it so I could slide the fridge under the bar and mount the tower to the top of my bar?

A stand alone, for example an edgestar dual tap, I was wondering if I bought the whole unit is there a way I can disconnect the tower from the unit and mount it to the top of my bar with everything running back to the refridgerator. There would be about a 9 inch gap from the top of the fridge to the top of the bar.

You can definitively do that, but the compressor and fan are not made for that kind of "built-in" ventilation. The undercounter units have special blowers to keep the compressor from overheating.
