Kegerator Forum: FOAMING BEER

I just bought a kegerator and a 1/2 barrel of bud light and a new co2 and its been sitting in the kegerator for over 6 hours and all that will come out is foam no beer.  I cant find anyone to come service it and I would like some beer out of it sometime soon.....someone please lend your advice. Well there's a lot to go with here.

Check the temperature, it needs to be at around 38 degrees.

Make sure the cooling tube in the box itself is running up through the tower. It should be blowing cold air directly on the shank.

Make sure the lines are clean and the faucet is clean as well. Last person might not have cleaned it regularly.

You're pressure for a box should be about 12psi, make sure your regulator is set at that as not to overcarbonate the beer. If you have to start off low and move higher that will be fine. But the golden pressure is 12-14 at 0-2000ft above sea level.

Also make sure the faucet is opening completely. If it's only half opening you will swirl the beer and foam like no other. And open it with a quick pull from the bottom of the handle instead of a slower one at the top.

If you have any more info post up. I'm back from being sick, so I'll keep checking on.
