Kegerator Forum: foam issue

I just got a new setup, the keg temp is at 35 degrees, the c02 is at 11 psi and everything is clean, i have ran several pitchers out of the keg and i still get half a glass of foam. sometimes i will get a glass with a 2" head that is thick and creamy but that doesent last it then turns to a soapy foam and fills half of the glass.. i have made adjustment to the pressure and i still get inconsistant head, any thoughts? thanks.

Make sure all the washers are good and the seal on the keg itself is free of cuts. A washer that protrudes out to far our a bad keg seal will swirl the beer and cause foam.

Also how are you pouring and how clean is the glassware. If the head is dieing out fast the glassware could be dirty.

If you have bigger bubbles the glass isn't completely clean and the bubbles are hanging up on something.

Best way is to get the cleaning brush that bars use, but make sure you scrub the glassware good and dip the glass in clean water with a heel in heel out motion. If you just dip the glass in it will create an air pocket where the water cant get in to clean out the bottom.

Just take your hand, holding the glass from the bottom dip the heel of the glass in and bring the top down by rolling your wrist submerging the entire glass. Then start taking the bottom out with the same rolling motion. It's kinda like a wheel.
