Hello, I have a Nostalgia kegerator that I purchased about a year ago. I've always had trouble finding consistent pressure to allow a nice smooth pour. It's either way too high or way too low. I'm on maybe my fourth keg, and it's probably a little less than half full.
I should have plenty of CO2 (2.5 tank) as I filled it before buying this latest keg. The beer is barely coming out and I can't turn the regulator any higher. I'm thinking I need to upgrade my regulator. What are your thoughts? If I do, how do I make sure I get the right one that will fit my system? Any recommendations? I appreciate your help. - Mike in Dallas |

For a good smooth pour on about 4 ft of line you should be around 12-14 PSI. That should put you at about 2oz a second pour which is ideal. Rule of thumb is that you need about 100 PSI left in the tank to take care of 1 1/2 barrel, if I remember from my classes.
It's possible you might have a bad regulator that needs to be rebuilt. |
