Good morning - first time poster.  So - in my infinite wisdom I decided to hurry the defrosting process this weekend, chipping away at a block of ice.   Pssssssssst - punchered the cold plate, lost all freon.   I am pretty sure my unit is now dead - any other suggestions welcome.

Now, looking to replace - my unit is under counter mounted and worked well for 2 years.   I left plenty of breathing room when I built the bar.   I am looking to either get another Sanyo or a Danby.   I understand there are some mods needed to improve Danby cooling/thermostat issues.

Question is - would you still with a Sanyo or go for the cheaper Danby (money isnt really an issue, but I would get credit from my wife by being frugal).
