I,m a rookie at this.
I converted a 5.3 cu.in. frezzer into a kegerator. I built a 12.5 inch wood collar to accomodate a door mount perlick faucet. I tapped the keg Friday. I equipped the unit with a Loves Temp controller. I set it for 40 deg. After some reading on your website I learned that 38 is the optimum temperature. The regulator on the 5 lb CO2 tank was set for 12 psi, also via your website I was wrong. I would have a good pour after the first pour, until last night, Tuesday I poured 2 beers, went back for a third & nothing but a trickle. My CO2 pressure gauge said empty. Impossible, so I disconnected the coupler & found ice build up around the seal. I weight the tank, it weighed in at 8 lbs. and the outside was frosted over about an 1/16 inch. I let it sit overnight in the house, hooked it up Wednesday morning before work, and it now read full. What would cause this to happen? KDOLOTINA |

I'm an idiot. I had my temp probe too high in the keezer. I lowered it & was able to maintain a fairly good temp. I actually put the probe in a 2 liter coke bottle. Beer is pouring perfect. 37 deg F. |

The CO2 bottle didn't freeze, the pony keg did. |
