Kegerator Forum: Couplers

I am new to kegerator-making and dont really understand the reasons for the different types of tap couplers (D, S, A, etc.). I am going to build a dual keg system so I can have one bigger keg of lighter beer and a smaller keg of better tasting beer. If i live in atlanta and want to be able to run the gamut on beer from all different countries, does it matter what coupler I buy? I see that couplers say they are the type used by many american distributers (D), some are used by german beers like warsteiner (A), and others for english beers (G). What do I do?

Thanks for the help.
