My Summit manual defrost needs to be defrosted after every keg, 2 weeks or less, frosted so bad that the new keg won't go back in. Ice about the size of a bread loaf. My basement has a dehumidifier and is really dry anyway. Worse thing is it drips through a hole into the back left corner onto the floor, my new finished basement hardwood floor. Would plugging the hole in the top (the 2-3 inch hole that the lines go through) lengthen the time between defrosting? is there a hose that connects to a nipple behind the unit that will allow the defrost water to drain out the front? Mine is built-in so I have to "uninstall" it every time to save the floor. Major PITA. Help |

I see now that the water drains into a plastic pan above the compressor. There is a plastic overflow tube in the pan to which I can, and will, attach a drain hose. However my model SBC490 BIFR should be auto-defrost. What's up? Went homa @ lunch and the thing is STILL defrosting. Almost 30hrs and the ice is still about 4lbs. |
